
Pooh Shiesty released from prison after three years
Pooh Shiesty has been released from federal prison. The Memphis rapper (real name Lontrell Williams) was previously behind bars at the US Penitentiary Canaan in Waymart, Pennsylvania.
Shiesty pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking in January 2022.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the 25-year-old is no longer in custody despite his release date listed as April 11th, 2026.
Details surrounding his early release are currently unknown. While he hasn’t posted on social media yet, a video surfaced of him in an elevator outside of prison.
USP Canaan is a high-security prison for men and is home to around 1,269 inmates. He was arrested on October 2020 and June 2021. In April 2022, he was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison, with credit given for time he had already served.
Shiesty admitted to participating in a conspiracy inside a car when an occupant discharged a firearm at a gas station in July 2020.
He also admitted to meeting to acquire marijuana, codeine, and sneakers, while brandishing firearms and assaulting two victims in October 2020, in addition to assaulting a victim with a firearm at a Miami strip club in May 2021.
Shiesty is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label. He released his debut project, Shiesty Season, in 2021, with features from Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Foogiano, Tay Keith, and others.
The album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart with 62,000 units. Two more editions of the project were released, including Spring Deluxe and Certified.
Sheisty has over 3.3 million Instagram followers, with his biggest song, ‘Back in Blood’, boasting 460 million streams on Spotify.
