Pooh Shiesty addresses rumours he was sent back to prison
Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty was released from prison in October after serving three years behind bars, but reports this week claimed he was locked up again.
Various platforms claimed that jail records showed he was in custody and set to be released in a few months.
DJ Akademiks posted on X, “According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons records, the rapper known as ‘Pooh Shiesty’ aka Lontrell Denell Williams Jr has been taken into custody. He has a new release date listed of April 11, 2026. He’s being currently held in Dallas. More info to come.”
However, Akademiks followed up the news with claims that he had been in contact with Shiesty’s record label, Atlantic Records, which denied the incarceration.
“Pooh Shiesty record label reached out to me and confirmed that he is not in jail,” he said. “Apparently his April date existed since his ‘release’ and he’s on home confinement until April like he has been the whole time since his release.”
He added, “Rumors of his incarceration started via a stream when fans assumed a conversation on one of his closest friends stream (Bendadon) was about him being arrested.”
After it was reported he was placed at RRM Dallas, a federal halfway house, Shiesty responded on Instagram, “Can’t tell the internet dumb ass nothing.”
Shiesty pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking in January 2022.
He was sentenced to 63 months and served his sentence at US Penitentiary Canaan in Waymart, Pennsylvania.
The 26-year-old dropped his first single since his release in December. ‘FDO’ has over 25 million views on YouTube, as well as 15 million streams on Spotify.
