Playboi Carti to premiere new album in full at Rolling Loud Miami 2024
Playboi Carti‘s new album has been a long time coming, but he’s ready to give fans the ultimate experience at Rolling Loud. The Atlanta rapper is set to perform the entirety of his upcoming project, I Am Music, at the Miami edition of the festival on December 15th.
Ahead of his performance at the Hard Rock Stadium, Playboi Carti took to Instagram to reveal he would be playing his long-awaited album at the festival. “Miami ten year anniversary – I Am Music will b played – Kant wait to see yal MFs nah fr,” he wrote in the caption alongside a poster for the event.
Rolling Loud added more excitement to the news with a couple of posts on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Carti just played us some new music on FaceTime. I Am Music is coming. Two of the songs he played got huge features on it.” It’s currently unclear who the features are and whether or not I Am Music will be released prior to the show.
The festival’s co-founder, Tariq Cherif, also made a big claim about the project, writing on X, “Was on FaceTime with Carti last night for like 2 hours. Bro played me some fiiiiiire from the album. I Am Music is about to be a classic.”
In September, producer Cardo revealed some details about Playboi Carti’s new album during an interview with Billboard, claiming they’ve come with a new subgenre: burnt music. “We’ll be in the studio, like, ‘This music is burnt,’” he said.
He also cited Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and Juicy J, DJ Toomp, The Legendary Traxster and Halloween director/composer John Carpenter as influences for I Am Music. In the same article, it was said that the album was scheduled to be released before the end of 2024.
Playboi Carti released his last album Whole Lotta Red in December 2020 with features from Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Future. The project debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 100,000 units in its first week.
Carti is one of three headliners at Rolling Loud Miami alongside Future and Travis Scott. As usual, the lineup contains a stacked list of rap names, including Metro Boomin, Lil Yachty, Trippie Redd, Don Toliver, Kodak Black, Sexyy Red, Lil Baby, Polo G, Lil Tjay, Rick Ross and many others.
