Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott join forces on ‘Down In Atlanta’

Pharell Williams and Travis Scott have teamed up for a new track called ‘Down In Atlanta’. The new collaborative single has been teased numerous times already, with Scott performing it during his Las Vegas Road to Utopia residency in September. Williams has also shared snippets of ‘Down In Atlanta’ on his TikTok.

Performed by Scott and produced by Williams, ‘Down In Atlanta’ is the duo’s third collaborative release. Pharell previously helped produce ‘Flying High’, which appeared on Scott’s Rodeo album. He also performed alongside The Weekend on ‘SKELETONS’, which appeared on Scott’s 2018 record Astroworld

The new track is well-timed. Both Pharell and Scott recently announced new albums, with the former sharing the title of his third solo album, Phriends, at the start of November. While a release date is yet to be confirmed, the new LP is set to feature collaborations with K-pop megaband BTS.

Scott also has a new album in the works, having already teased his Astroworld follow-up Utopia. The rapper has previewed cuts from the upcoming album, though it’s unclear whether ‘Down In Atlanta’ will be included. Utopia will feature Kid Cudi, Future and Lil Uzi Vert. Last year, Scott explained that the new album was the product of “working with some new people and trying to expand the sound.”

‘Down In Atlanta’ comes almost exactly a year after fans were crushed to death at one of Scott’s concerts. The tragedy occurred at his Hueston Atroworld concert last year. After a six-month hiatus, Scott returned in the May of this year. He went on to perform at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards and Chile’s Primavera Sound festival.
