Peewee Longway requests 10 years in prison ahead of Atlanta sentencing

Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway has asked for a decade in prison after pleading guilty to various charges.

The artist formerly signed to Gucci Mane was arrested in September 2024 after a drug bust in Georgia and was charged with gun and drug violations in a five-count indictment.

On April 1st, he accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute a controlled substance.

According to MyMixtapez, a memo filed by his lawyer on June 30th requested 10 years from the federal judge. “I’m 41, I’m sick of it,” he said in his plea. “I want to change.”

Longway is expected to serve between 10 and 14 years behind bars after the three other counts were dismissed.

In his sentencing memorandum, he stated that although he will “always love music,” it’s “not his first priority.” He says he’s focused on becoming “a better father, brother, and person” following his sentence.

Speaking on his mother’s death, he said, “I didn’t know how to handle myself,” describing the period as a “blackout.” He continued, “I wasn’t thinking clearly, my eyes were closed. I wasn’t focused, I wasn’t logical.”

The 41-year-old is scheduled to be sentenced on July 9th. Prosecutors agreed to recommend a sentence of no more than 14 years, while Longway agreed to recommend a sentence of no less than 10 years.

Despite waiting to be sentenced and claiming his interest is moving away from his rap career, Longway dropped a new project titled INDO on May 29th. It served as his first release in three years following Who Am I?.
