Offset sentenced to 50 hours of community service in Los Angeles
Offset has been ordered to serve 50 hours of community service in Los Angeles.
The Atlanta rapper was sued last year after being accused of hitting a security guard in the face on March 14th, 2025.
The incident took place outside the cannabis dispensary, MedMen, near Los Angeles International Airport.
According to Rolling Stone, Offset has avoided jail time after the judge approved his request for a diversion program.
If the rapper completes 50 hours of community service, attends an anger management program, and dodges legal violations over the next 12 months, his criminal charge will be dismissed.
Prosecutors claimed that the incident was a “crime of violence against the victim,” but Offset’s lawyer pushed to dodge time in prison.
“It has been more than 14 months since the embarrassing and regretful incident that led to the current charge,” she wrote. “Since that time, [Offset] has kept his nose clean and has worked steadily to provide for himself and his children.”
The victim, Jim Sanchez, claimed he was in “immediate and severe pain” and suffers “persistent headaches, neck pain, and related symptoms.”
Claiming he was seeking a payday, Offset’s attorney said, “One minute after the confrontation, the security guard resumes his position at the front door, greeting customers and scanning their IDs. He does not touch or rub his head or cheek. He does not apply ice. He can be seen smiling and laughing with his co-workers while continuing to perform his job duties.”
In his complaint filed in November, Sanchez said, “Without legal justification or provocation, defendant Cephus became hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked plaintiff by striking him in the face. Several unidentified individuals who were accompanying defendant Cephus then proceeded to grab, push, and further assault and batter plaintiff.”
