North Carolina rapper shot in Durham days after affiliate’s murder
North Carolina rapper Setitoff83 has reportedly been shot in Durham.
On March 23rd, police officers found a person shot in the 3700 block of Wake Forest Highway at around 6:30pm.
According to ABC11, investigators claim the victim was shot somewhere else before driving to a local shopping centre for assistance. Authorities discovered a silver car outside a Carlie C’s grocery store, which had a bullet hole in the driver’s side door.
The injured person was reportedly taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office claiming that the shooting was an isolated incident.
The NC Beat reports that the unnamed victim is Tyrese Devonate Taylor, better known as rapper Setitoff83.
Setitoff83 has over 131,000 Instagram followers and is best known for songs such as ‘Big3’ and ‘I’m Turnt’, which have millions of views on YouTube.
He was once a member of the rap group 83 Babies, signed to Rich The Kid’s Rich Forever label, alongside Lil Tony and YBT. The trio’s biggest song, ‘No Cap‘, has over 39 million Spotify streams.
Fans shared messages of support on his Instagram page, writing, “Come on gang push through,” and “Don’t tell me ts true and if it is pull through.”
The shooting comes just days after fellow 83 Babies rapper, YBT (also known as Young Boss Tevo), was shot and killed in the same city. He was one of two people murdered in Durham on March 13th.
The incident took place in the 3500 block of North Roxboro, with police finding two men and one woman in a car with gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead, with the woman taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
