Nicki Minaj fires at her DJ following fan controversy
Pink Friday emcee Nicki Minaj recently took to Twitter/X to express her disapproval of her DJ’s actions. Minaj (real name Onika Maraj) has a distinct brand, and since her breakout in 2007, she has been known for signing the breasts of her female fans.
That said, the Queens artist wasn’t happy when she realised that her DJ (DJ Boof) was doing the same. Minaj is currently on her Pink Friday 2 Tour, and a photo of Boof signing a female’s breasts has begun circulating on social media. Expressing his delight at the opportunities he has been afforded as Nicki Minaj’s DJ, Boof wrote, “I’M REALLY FAMOUS [laughing emoji] THEY ASKED ME TO SIGN THEIR BOOBS.”
Nicki caught wind of the photo and swiftly took to Twitter/X to address the situation and the uncomfortable optics of Boof (real name Clyde Joseph Jr) writing on a young female. The original screenshot uploaded by @ISLANDBARBZZ was captioned, “Now why the Barbz getting they boobs signed by DJ Boof he happy asf too.”
Angrily responding to the picture, Minaj replied, writing, “I promise I’ll fire him if I EVAHHHHH see this again. Df.” It is evident that Minaj feels that the DJ is stealing her thunder and depriving her of the chance to interact with her fans.
Announcing that she will be doing her signature breast signings again, during an Instagram Live, the ‘Roman’s Revenge’ lyricist told her fans, “I will be signing boobs again. If you pretty, I sign titties. Will I be able to sign every boob? No. But make sure you do not touch the boob. Once it’s signed, let boob sit for five minutes. Cinco minutos.”
She continued, “Once boob sits, then you will be able to decide if you want to take an immediate picture of the boob or just examine everything and make sure. Okay, that was a joke, but I am signing boobs again.”
In other Nicki Minaj news, the ‘No Frauds’ icon was forced to cancel her performance in the UK city of Manchester after she was detained in The Netherlands for possession of marijuana, which is considered a “soft drug” in Amsterdam.
However, in response to the cancellation, the Pink Friday 2 Tour promoters told fans, “Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance, which will be announced ASAP.”
