Nicki Minaj asks for fans to help her name new single

Nicki Minaj previewed one of her new cuts entitled ‘Freaky Girl’ on her Twitter at the end of last month, and hinted that she would be releasing it on August 21st.

However, she has now changed her plans. Minaj took to Twitter yet again on Saturday, sharing that it was now not possible for her to use the name ‘Freaky Girl’, and needed suggestions for a replacement. She then added a poll to her page that included the options ‘He Want a Freaky Girl’, ‘Super Freaky Girl’ and ‘Nick James’. It quickly racked up over 118,000 votes, with ‘Nick James’ being at the top so far.

Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj’s work on the Kanye West track ‘Monster’ from 2010s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has been discussed by West’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, claiming that West confessed to her that Minaj trounced him in the studio when it came to recording the track.

Amber Rose told The Ringer’s Higher Learning: “I put Nicki on ‘Monster’. He didn’t know who Nicki was back then. I had Nicki pull up to the studio and I put her on ‘Monster’.”

Continuing: “She was still coming up and I saw her in the studio and I was like, ‘Oh my god this bitch is fucking talented as hell,’ and then I went back to Kanye and I was like, ‘You need to get this girl Nicki on ‘Monster‘, and he was like, ‘Who? What? No.'”

She did eventually go on to feature on the track, but for a time after West had first heard the verse, he wanted it to be removed for just how good it was, as he perceived that it had shown him up. “He said, ‘How the fuck did you bring in a bitch that killed me on my own song?'” Rose said.

Rose concluded: “I was with Kanye at the time and I was like, ‘Kanye, you gotta give her a shot like she’s amazing. He tried it out and he put her on ‘Monster.’ He was like, ‘Damn, she fuckin’ killed that shit.'”
