Nicki Minaj and husband face lawsuit over harassment of sexual assault victim

Nicki Minaj, and her husband Kenneth Petty, are defendants in a lawsuit by Jennifer Hough, who Petty sexually assaulted in 1994 when they were both 16 years old.

Petty was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison in 1995 for attempting to rape Hough after pleading guilty to the accusations. Last year, he was arrested after failing to announce himself as a sex offender, and it’s after this point where the harassment allegedly started.

Reportedly, Minaj contacted Hough after the incident, offered to fly her out to Los Angeles, and even allegedly tabled a sum of $500,000 for the victim to withdraw the accusations against her husband.

Hough even claims that Minaj said that her publicist could write up the recanting the statement on her behalf. The 43-year-old also said she told the singer, “I need you to know woman to woman, that this happened.”

She further adds that just days after turning down the offer, she and her family “suffered an onslaught of harassing calls and unsolicited visits,” which led her to move homes. Hough hasn’t worked since May last year “due to severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats”.

Furthermore, Hough is currently living in hiding and is seeking unspecified damages from the couple. Minaj and Petty have been married since 2019 and have an 11-month old son together.

The couple are yet to comment on the fresh allegations.
