Check out the trailer for ‘Untrapped’: the new Lil Baby documentary

Lil Baby has just revealed a new trailer for his upcoming documentary, Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby. The film documents how he rose from someone who never thought they could rap professionally to becoming a star in the world of rap. It will screen on Amazon Prime from August 26th.

The trailer, directed by Karam Gill, features Drake, who is spotted giving praise to Lil Baby. He says, “Lil Baby has already cemented himself as a super important part of this generation. He’s putting distance between himself and other people. He’ll just continue to evolve — this guy’s the truth.”

The trailer shows Lil Baby’s journey to stardom and how he took to music after time spent in prison. The trailer also shows Lil Baby discussing the US justice system. He says, “After I got locked up again, my perspective changed. America has a system in place, and it’s designed for us to fail. It’s a trap. I couldn’t go back to prison. I became an artist with something to say and people to stand for.”

This isn’t the first time we have seen Drake’s and Lil Baby’s friendship surface. In May this year, Drake appearance on stage with Lil Baby during a festival in Montreal. They played their collaboration tune ‘Wants and Needs’, after which Drake stayed on during Lil Baby’s set and played several of his own tunes, including ‘Nonstop’, ‘Headlines’, Girls Want Girls’ and Laugh Now Cry Later’.

Lil Baby dropped ‘Dark Mode’ in May of this year, a follow-up to the singles ‘Right On, ‘In A Minute’ and ‘Frozen’, which had come the previous month. The rapper also featured on Nicki Minaj’s ‘Do We Have A Problem’ and ‘Bussin’, earlier this year, as well as dropping a remix of Ed Sheeran’s ‘2step’.
