NBA YoungBoy to pay funeral costs for 10-year-old girl killed in Baton Rouge

NBA YoungBoy is paying the funeral costs for a 10-year-old who was shot and killed earlier this month.

Kimani Thomas died in an accidental shooting in Baton Rouge on March 10th along Government Street.

According to WBRZ, YoungBoy offered to cover the cost of the funeral. Her mother took to social media to reveal the news.

“I know Baton Rouge love to say all the bad things people do,” she wrote. “But I want to be the first to say publicly thanks to NBA YoungBoy and whomever may be apart of his team tonight. As I type this with tears in my eyes, my baby Kimani funeral is officially paid for!”

She added that YoungBoy was her daughter’s favourite rapper, writing, “I know she dancing her tail off full of joy!”

Thomas lost her life while playing outside of a car. She was waiting for her mother to leave her shift when a relative picked up a gun inside the car and accidentally shot her, later dying from her injuries.

YoungBoy has 13 children of his own with reportedly 10 different women. His most recent child with Jazlyn Mychelle was born in February.

During an interview in 2024, he was asked how important fatherhood was to him. He replied, “I’m not really big on it, to be honest.”

The rapper released his latest album, Slime Cry, in January, debuting at number six on the Billboard 200 chart with 70,000 sales in its first week.

He concluded his Make America Slime Again Tour in November, which grossed an impressive $70 million. It was the highest-grossing tour by a debut headlining rapper of all time in the US.
