NBA YoungBoy escorted by police after being swarmed by fans
NBA YoungBoy is performing two homecoming shows in New Orleans as part of his Make America Slime Again Tour. Following the first of two nights, the 26-year-old was swarmed by fans after walking through the street.
The Baton Rouge rapper appeared to walk down Bourbon Street without security on October 19th in viral videos that surfaced online.
The response from fans forced police to escort him away from the busy area. Fans reacted to the videos on social media, writing, “He’s getting too comfy and cocky. He should always be on guard.”
Another person said, “Why the fuck would he do some stupid shit like that? Dawg you 2 big for this shit, go to the room n chill you can’t hang like regular people bra.”
Leading up to the shows at Smoothie King Center, the New Orleans Police Department announced the increase of law enforcement, with over 400 officers assigned to the concerts. The venue also enforced a no-bag policy.
A statement read, “Our enforcement presence will include walking beats, mounted, bicycles, tactical units, drones, one of our armoured vehicles, our light towers in key areas and high visibility patrols.”
The Make America Slime Again Tour is YoungBoy’s first tour in five years following the Still Flexin, Still Steppin Tour. He’s being supported by Offset, NoCap, K3, Lil Dump, and Dee Baby.
The tour is set to run until November 12th, with shows still to come in Birmingham, Charlotte, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Glendale, San Diego, Las Vegas, Portland, and Seattle.
YoungBoy released his latest album, Deshawn, on August 12th, which quickly followed MASA (short for Make America Slime Again) in July.
