Mystikal’s sex offender mugshot surfaces after pleading guilty to rape

Mystikal‘s sex offender mugshot has surfaced online after he pleaded guilty to third-degree rape earlier this week.

On March 17th, the 55-year-old rapper (real name Michael Tyler) entered a guilty plea in an Ascension Parish courtroom in Louisiana.

Following the plea, TMZ has obtained a never-before-seen mugshot, dating back to 2010. At the time, he was required to take a photo at the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office to register as a lifetime sex offender.

His current status is “inactive” due to being incarcerated, meaning he’s not currently considered a danger to the community.

Mystikal was released from prison in January 2010 after being convicted of sexual battery and extortion in June 2003.

Following his plea deal this week, the rapper is set to be sentenced on June 15th and faces up to 20 years behind bars. The deal he accepted downgraded the original charge from first-degree rape.

Prosecutors decided against pursuing nine other charges, which included simple criminal damage, false imprisonment, battery domestic strangulation, and simple robbery.

He was arrested at his home in Prairieville in 2022 on first-degree rape, domestic abuse battery-strangulation, and false imprisonment charges, entering a not guilty plea. His arrest came about after a woman in the hospital told police officers that she had been sexually assaulted.

Mystikal was signed to Master P’s No Limit Records between 1996 and 2000, releasing his albums Unpredictable and Ghetto Fabolous on the label. He hasn’t dropped an LP since Tarantula in 2001.

The biggest songs of his career came during that time, with ‘Shake Ya Ass’ peaking at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ‘Danger (Been So Long)’ reaching number 14.
