Miley Cyrus reaches out to DaBaby following homophobic remarks

Following DaBaby’s cancellation due to his homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud festival in Miami, Miley Cyrus has reached out to the rapper.

Everyone from Elton John to Dua Lipa has condemned him for his disgusting comments, and now his remarks have now hit his bank balance as festivals continue to drop the rapper from his scheduled performances, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.

However, Cyrus has taken an empathetic approach, and she knows how it feels to be on the receiving end of an online backlash.

“The internet can fuel a lot of hate and anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture,” Cyrus wrote in her Instagram post, “But I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication and connection.”

Adding: “It’s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds. There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress.”

The post has split opinion, with some believing that DaBaby’s comments about HIV/Aids and linking it to the gay community is beyond retribution. However, others agree that he deserves a shot at redemption and commend Cyrus for reaching out to him at a lonely time.

DaBaby is yet to respond to Cyrus’ message publically.
