Method Man addresses absence on Wu-Tang Clan’s Australian tour

Method Man has spoken out for the first time since missing dates on Wu-Tang Clan’s Australian tour.

The group’s Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber Tour recently headed down under and was advertised to include “all members” of the group.

However, Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadonna, and Ol Dirty Bastard’s son, Young Dirty Bastard, were absent from the shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

During a recent Instagram Live, Method Man addressed the situation, telling his followers, “Before we even went on the overseas tour, I wasn’t going. I said I wasn’t going. I said I was booked.”

He suggested that promoters continued to promote his appearance at the shows despite never committing to them. Describing them as “overzealous,” he said, “I was seeing flyers saying all living members are going to be there… they know that I haven’t agreed to go on the tour yet.”

Method Man continued, “Sometimes the promoters are privy to this information but don’t want to give out this information. They’ll wait for the ticket sales, and then they’ll make an announcement close to the date, which I don’t think is fair. The reason why I’m even giving this explanation is because I love our fans, love Australia. But again, if I’m booked, I’m booked.”

Ticketek emailed fans about the previously unannounced changes after the Brisbane no-show, prompting Wu-Tang Clan to offer refunds for their absence.

“We want to make fans aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, a couple of members will be unable to join the remaining tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney,” a statement read. “Wu-Tang Clan will be performing and bringing everything that has made them one of the most iconic live acts in hip-hop history.”

The legendary group recently announced a continuation of their farewell tour alongside Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
