Megan Thee Stallion gives update after “scary” hospitalisation
Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out for the first time since being hospitalised earlier this week.
The Houston rapper was forced to leave the stage during a showing of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway on March 31st after becoming “very ill.”
On April 1st, Megan took to Instagram to give an update on her condition, stating that she was run-down.
“Last night was a real wake-up call for me,” she began. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.”
She continued, “Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been… I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.”
Megan ended the post by thanking fans for sticking with her and showing her love.
The rapper’s representative, Didier Morais, issued a statement after Megan exited the stage and was taken to the hospital.
“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” she said. “We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”
The incident took place at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Manhattan, New York City. Megan made her debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical last week, marking her first-ever Broadway show.
