Megan Thee Stallion has been hospitalised after becoming “very ill” in New York.

The Houston rapper is currently starring in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, and was forced to exit the show mid-performance on March 31st.

According to TMZ, Megan started the show as normal before the performance stopped, and she didn’t return.

In a statement, her representative, Didier Morais, said, “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask fans to send their well-wishes to Megan. “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,” he wrote to his 83,000 followers.

Another person took to the platform to detail their experience at the Broadway show.

“Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived,” they began. “The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologised to the audience and said ‘stay inside and seated.'”

They continued, “I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us ‘for now, we’ll update you if anything changes.'”

Speaking about joining the show, she said, “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively. And theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace.” Her performances have seen her incorporate her hit singles ‘Savage’ and ‘Body‘ in the show.
