In a recent social media stir, Megan Thee Stallion suggested that she could be hitting the big screen for the final season of the award-winning Netflix series Stranger Things. The exciting update came in the form of a collection of photos posted on Instagram.
Yesterday afternoon, the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ singer shared a post on Instagram, which included seven photographs. The first four images in the collection show Megan standing in front of a building. However, the vital fifth sees the 27-year-old rap artist posing in front of a green screen holding a card titled Stranger Things. The penultimate photograph shows Megan sitting on a director’s chair that has the Netflix logo printed on the back.
Remaining fashionably elusive, Megan didn’t provide any further details on the possible acting role. She captioned the pictures with spider, spider web and heart emojis. Feel free to decipher that potential enigma.
The Houston rapper is no stranger to the camera, however. She has also undertaken acting roles in the shows Good Girls, P-Valley and She Hulk: Attorney at Law. Megan is also set to star in the forthcoming musical comedy Fucking Identical Twins.
Back in 2019, Megan starred in a Halloween-related YouTube series directed by Teyana Taylor called Hottieween. In 2020, Megan told Variety that she was now working on her own horror screenplay and previously expressed her dream of working with the acclaimed horror director Jordan Peele in an interview with Marie Claire.
Netflix signed the Duffer Brothers on for the fifth and final season of their beloved creation Stranger Things back in February. The concluding season of the 1980s-set sci-fi drama is scheduled to air in the summer of 2024.
Earlier this summer, as fans took on the fourth season, the Duffer Brothers were met with criticism from Stranger Things actors Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp, who suggested the creators haven’t ramped up their body count enough.
Responding to the criticism, Matt Duffer said: “This is me basically defending myself against these Millie Bobby Brown accusations and explaining that there are lives behind it, and it’s nothing to do with my sensitivity. So there you go, Millie.”
Prior to the fourth series, the Duffers promised a substantial “body count,” but heading into the final season, the cast is still notably bulky. It looks like we will have to wait until 2024 to find out who survives.
