Megan Thee Stallion discusses backlash from Tory Lanez shooting incident

Megan Thee Stallion has candidly discussed the backlash that she has faced since she was shot in an incident involving Tory Lanez, stating that the social media reaction has made her the victim.

Megan Thee Stallion was shot in the foot at a party in Kylie Jenner’s house back in July 2020, and the rapper later claimed that Tory Lanez was responsible for firing the shot. However, Lanez has denied all charges.

Thus, in the aftermath, Megan Thee Stallion has said that she has been the subject of victim blaming online as a result of her accusations.

Lanez could face up to 22 years and eight months in prison if he is found guilty when the pair go to trial on September 14th. When speaking to Rolling Stone, the rapper said: I want him to go to jail…I want him to go under the jail.”

“In some kind of way I became the villain,” she added. “And I don’t know if people don’t take it seriously because I seem strong. I wonder if it’s because of the way I look. Is it because I’m not light enough? Is it that I’m not white enough? Am I not the shape? The height? Because I’m not petite? Do I not seem like I’m worth being treated like a woman?”

Concluding with regards to her online haters: “I don’t want them to know that I feel like this, because I don’t want them to feel like, ‘Oh, I got you. I’m breaking you.’”
