Meek Mill is teasing a sequel to 'Championships'

Rapper and musician Meek Mill is teasing a follow-up to his 2018 LP Championships leaving his fans excited. The proposed new record has apparently been subtitled Don’t Follow Your Heathens.

The teasing began when the Philadelphian made the announcement on Instagram stories, also sharing what appeared to be the tracklisting for the new album too.

The track listing offered little by way of information on the new record. However, there is a song titled ‘Apocalypse 2’ with production from Cardo and a total of 31 songs, coming in at 31 minutes long.

2018 was a huge year for Meek Mill, and Championships, was a large part of the reason why. The first record to drop following his release from prison, the 19-track album catapulted the musician into a new level of stardom.

The album was littered with guest spots, including features for Rick Ross, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Jay-Z and, perhaps the most enticing, Drake. The two men put aside their previous beef to collaborate on ‘Going Bad’.

“They found me on Instagram,” Papamitrou, the album’s producer, told Hip Hop DX. “I didn’t get really serious about making beats until my freshman year of college. I started putting a lot of YouTube videos out. I would put Meek Mill-type beats up all the time, and it would hit. I have a couple that have a couple million views.

“I started posting Instagram videos saying, ‘Meek Mill would love this beat.’ I was just trying to get a little bit of attention, thinking maybe someone will catch something. Next thing you you know, I look at my notifications and it said Meek Mill liked your video.”
