Master P thinks Lil Wayne also needs to be involved with Super Bowl show

Following the recent announcement that Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, Master P has issued a statement. The recently appointed ‘Entertainment Ambassador’ for the Super Bowl has confirmed that he thinks Lil Wayne should also be involved in proceedings.

The news that Kendrick Lamar would headline the halftime performance was met positively by a range of different fans. The show will take place at the Super Bowl halftime in New Orleans on February 9th. Sharing in that excitement was Master P, who took to social media to make an official statement about the announcement.

Master P began by acknowledging Kendrick Lamar’s current stance in the rap game and confirmed that he was one of the biggest artists in the world at the moment. “Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved,” he said, “He’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.”

P continued by stating that he believes Lil Wayne has also earned his place on that stage, and this is especially the case given the rapper is from New Orleans. “As ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of proceedings as well,” he said, “He’s one of the greatest [hip-hop] artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native.”

Master P concluded, “Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here.”

Kendrick Lamar announced he would perform in the Super Bowl halftime show over the weekend with a short video. Against a backdrop of the US flag, he continued to put footballs into a training machine while talking about the importance of the event. “You know there’s only one opportunity to win the championship,” he said, “No round twos.”

The Compton rapper also made a statement of intent in his caption on social media where he shared the news, highlighting the importance of hip-hop and making it clear he will be bringing his all to the stage. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he said, “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
