Man charged with XXXTentacion’s murder released from prison

One of the men charged with the murder of XXXTentacion has been released from prison.

The 20-year-old rapper (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was shot and killed in June 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

According to XXL, Robert Allen is a free man after being sentenced to seven years behind bars.

He received credit for the five years he spent in Broward County Jail, and will spend the next 20 years on supervised release.

Allen was arrested the month after XXXTentacion’s murder, along with Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2022 and testified against his co-defendants.

Allen was facing up to life in prison before accepting a plea deal in the murder of the ‘Moonlight’ rapper.

“To say I’m sorry does not even begin the true inner remorse I want to make known,” Allen said at the time. “I know that these words that I will speak will never erase the pain and sorrow and loss of what the family will have from now on.”

He continued, “There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about what happened and beg for forgiveness from God. If I have to die in prison, then so be it, I know the risk I was taking. Let justice be served and I’ll know that was the right thing to do … Please forgive me.”

Broward Judge Michael Usan told him, “I genuinely believe that you are sorry for what you’ve done and not merely sorry for yourself, and I think the remorse that you’ve shown is genuine.”

Before the murder, Allen had run-ins with the law as a convicted fraudster and had been convicted for carrying a concealed firearm and drug possession.
