Ludacris to perform free Atlanta concert for World Cup final

Ludacris has announced a free concert in Atlanta to celebrate the World Cup final.

The 48-year-old rapper is set to headline A Celebration of Soccer and Sound in Piedmont Park on July 19th following the conclusion of the tournament.

According to WTOC, fans can expect a celebration of “global culture and hometown pride” at the outdoor festival. In order to attend the event, fans must RSVP.

The festival is set to begin at 11am, and will include food, games, and local business stands, with a big screen showing the final at 3pm local time. As well as Ludacris, a DJ will also be hitting the stage, with the festival coming to a close at 8pm.

There are currently eight teams left in the World Cup. The final will include two of the following teams: France, Morocco, Spain, Belgium, Norway, England, Argentina, and Switzerland.

Despite the Atlanta celebration, the final will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Before the World Cup final day, Luda will also be performing at Centennial Olympic Park’s FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta on July 14th.

Luda is preparing to release his new album, having released recent singles like ‘Pull Over’ and ‘Real Hustla’ with GloRilla.

Speaking in 2023, he told Rolling Stone, “We’re still in the beginning stages, but there’s definitely music coming out in 2024. I’m going to keep it tight-lipped for now. Nowadays you got to do that. Music and rap is all about what you’re going through and what your reality is. And I think as I’ve grown as an individual and evolved as a person, so has the music.”

The upcoming project will serve as his first album since 2015’s Ludaversal, which reached number three on the Billboard 200 chart with features from Big KRIT, Miguel, Usher, and Monica.
