
Cause of death revealed for Los Angeles rapper Luci4
The cause of death has been announced for rapper Luci4 following his death earlier this year.
The 23-year-old (real name James Dear) died in Los Angeles on February 22nd without many details surrounding his death.
According to People, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reports that the rapper died as a result of fentanyl toxicity, with the manner of his death listed as accidental.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received a medical call at 11:40am. When they arrived, Luci4 was found dead, and the police were informed.
Following his death, Luci4’s grandparents told TMZ that he died at his friend’s house. They claimed his death was suspicious, alleging his wallet had been emptied. They said that they had recently warned him about his associates as his fame reached new levels.
His manager, Kayla G, took to Instagram immediately after his death to pay tribute to the young rapper, honouring his talent.
“I am devastated to inform you that today, James, Luci4, Axxturel has passed away,” she said. “He was truly a leader a king and a musician and a genius. There’s nobody like him and there will never be. We all loved him dearly. Rest Easy. Please allow family and friends privacy and patience during this difficult time.”
She added, “The best decision I ever made was to manage Luci4. We were inseparable and we will forever be bonded together. I’ll see you soon king.”
Luci4 is best known for his song ‘BodyPartz’, which is certified gold and has over 113 million Spotify streams. Some of his other big songs include ‘Dead N Gone’, ‘Kurxxed Emeraldz’, ‘Hey’, and ‘Jabbawockeez’.
He signed a deal with Atlantic Records after blowing up on TikTok in 2021 as a pioneer of the trap subgenre sigilkore.
