Logic reveals his top three favourite rappers of all time

The Impaulsive podcast hosted by YouTube personality turned wrestler Logan Paul is one of the most successful podcasts in the world currently. Hosting a range of high-profile guests from Snoop Dogg to Mike Tyson, the online show is undoubtedly one of the best. Last year the podcast saw the Maryland musician Logic sit down for an interview. During a compelling discussion about his influences, the rapper named his top three rappers ever.

Since his emergence in 2010, Logic has become one of contemporary hip-hop’s most respected non-black rappers. With meme and SoundCloud rappers such as Bhad Bhabie and Lil Xan perpetuating the idea that white rap is a joke, Logic proved that’s not the case. Although mumble had received big-money record deals during his tenure, authentic and genuine rappers like himself consistently produced quality hip-hop. Furthermore, they gained respect along the way for doing so.

The previously Grammy-nominated artist and Paul delved into his rise to hip-hop stardom and his unique style, which Paul cited as “fascinating”. Detailing how his rap style developed over a long time, Logic explained how his flow was an amalgamation of other rappers he idolised. The Young Sinatra hit-maker explained to the podcaster how he had merely tried to follow in the footsteps of other great rappers from a young age.

Further elaborating on how he observed the style of others, the rapper stated, “Yeah, I’m a chameleon. you know, like I have studied everybody man from Nas to Kendrick, Cole to Big Daddy Kane MC light, Queen Latifah Juicy J, Killer Mike.” With such a vast array of influences, it’s hard to imagine how the musician (real name Robert Hall) could turn all the styles into one. However, it is undeniably true that Hall’s style is different to anyone else.

However, after speaking about his various influences, the podcast’s co-host, Mike Majlak, proceeded to ask the rapper if he could name his top three rappers of all time. Although it was a hard question for the Maryland act, he responded, unveiling, ”Oh sh*t…..uh….Black Dot, Dilla, and f**king Common. That’s just what comes in my head right now.” This is most definitely a unique set of highly skilled rappers, who rarely come up in top five conversations. This was undoubtedly a great revelation for fans. You can watch the full Impaulsive interview with Logic in the video below.
