Lil Wayne’s handwritten lyrics going up for auction at $5 million following long legal battle

Lyrics handwritten by Lil Wayne in the 1990s are reportedly going on sale for $5 million at action following a long battle with the rapper to regain possession.

The American rapper’s notebook was first listed in 2019 for $250,000 and allegedly contains written lyrics to ‘I Feel’ and ‘We On Fire’. The person who originally found the notes discovered them in an old car previously owned by Cash Money Records and decided to store them in his garage.

When Wayne found out about the listing, however, his lawyers issued a cease-and-desist letter to Moments in Time, the company officiating the sale, stating that the rapper wanted his notes back. In the letter, his legal team clarified that he didn’t “abandon” his notebook; he had simply misplaced it and was thrilled that someone had found it for him.

In response, Moments in Time fired back, arguing that the seller “has crystal clear title.” When the rapper didn’t respond, the court concluded the case by ruling against him.

Now, Moments in Time has justified the eye-watering $5million price tag to TMZ by describing Wayne as the greatest rapper of all time. This means his handwritten lyrics, which were likely written when he was a teenager, are incredibly valuable.

Elsewhere, Weezy recently featured on Cordae’s latest track ‘Saturday Morning’, which caused fans to speculate about whether his dedicated verse was a subtle attack on Drake amid his latest feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Complete with his signature wordplay, the rapper’s verse seems to include lines directly aimed at Drake: “It fit me like a glove, OJ hand. I’ma need a little love from your hating ass,” Wayne raps. “Need less yes-men and more amens. I’ma need more real prayers and less praying hands.”

One line even appears to pick out Drake’s surname Graham: “You standing on business, I’m a business man,” Wayne rhymes. “I’ma GOAT, you a sacrificial lamb. You a Teddy bear, a Teddy Graham.” However, the rapper has neither confirmed nor denied his intended meaning.
