Lil Wayne has announced that his new album, Tha Carter VII, is on the way.

Weezy only released his last album, Tha Carter VI, in June 2025, but he’s already putting together the follow-up, which will be another entry in the Carter series.

During his appearance on Wake Up Barstool this week, he revealed that his next album is in the works.

“Tha Carter VII is coming soon,” he said. “I’m not sure if we going to just name my next album Tha Carter VII, but I got albums coming as well.”

He continued, “But I don’t know when, if they going to just name it Tha Carter VII or they’re going to wait for another album and name it that, you know. But I got music for days.”

Wayne has now released six Carter albums: Tha Carter in 2004, Tha Carter II in 2005, Tha Carter III in 2008, Tha Carter IV in 2011, Tha Carter V in 2018, and Tha Carter VI in 2025.

The 43-year-old rapper once revealed that he doesn’t know the difference between his Carter albums.

“I’m going to be so honest with you: I don’t know Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter from Tha Carter IV,” he told Rolling Stone. “And that’s just my God’s honest truth. You could lie, you could ask me [about] such and such song, I wouldn’t even know what we talking about. So, it holds no significance to me at all.”

He added, “I work every day, bro – every single day. I believe that [God] blessed me with this amazing mind, but would not give [me] an amazing memory to remember this amazing shit.”
