Lil Wayne replaces Migos at Governors Ball

Lil Wayne has replaced Migos on the line-up of Governors Ball in New York after the rap trio pulled out of the event.

Weezy will now take their spot on Friday evening of the festival, with other artists that day including Kid Cudi, Jack Harlow, Skepta, Black Pumas and JPEGMAFIA. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Halsey, Flume, Roddy Ricch, Denzel Curry, and YG are among those performing. Finally, on Sunday, J. Cole, Playboi Carti and Glass Animals will all appear.

It’s rumoured Migos pulled out because they have broken up, and talk of their split began last month when Quavo and Takeoff launched their new project, Unc And Phew. Additionally, after the release of their debut single ‘Hotel Lobby’, Offset and his wife Cardi B unfollowed both of the Migos pair on social media.

The group pulling out of Governors Ball will only increase the speculation surrounding their future. However, they are yet to comment on the rumours. As it stands, they are set to perform in Brazil and Las Vegas at festivals in September.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Quavo is to star in a new action thriller. Entitled Takeover, the flick is being produced by Quality Films and Trioscope per a report in Deadline

It is directed by Greg Jonkajtys and features a script from Jeb Stuart, who worked on classics such as Die Hard and The Fugitive, and Brandon Easton, the mind behind Marvel’s Agent Carter
