Lil Wayne has reacted to being snubbed by Coachella and the Grammys.
The Coachella music festival took place across two weekends this month, while the Grammys occurred in February.
Over the weekend, Weezy took to social media to share his thoughts on not being included in both events.
“It’s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork, I’m uninvited & uninvolved,” he wrote. “I appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind if so bc you’re the humbling experience that’s timeless & 4dat I thk u. Iaintshitwithoutu.”
Wayne released his latest album, Tha Carter VI, in June 2025, but wasn’t nominated for any awards or asked to attend the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. Similarly, he wasn’t asked to perform at this year’s edition of Coachella in support of his latest project.
The rapper has publicly voiced his disappointment in the past, particularly when Kendrick Lamar was chosen to headline the Super Bowl in New Orleans instead of him.
“That hurt, it hurt a lot,” he said in a statement. “I thought there was nothing better that spot, on that stage, on that platform. It broke me, but I’m just trying to put myself back together.”
Wayne later told Rolling Stone that someone from the NFL told him to be more in the public eye in the lead-up to the event.
“To perform, it’s a bunch of things they’re going to tell you to do and not do, asses to kiss and not kiss,” he said. “If you notice, I was a part of things I’ve never been a part of. Like [Michael] Rubin’s all-white parties. I’m doing shit with Tom Brady. That was all for that.”
He added, “You ain’t never seen me in them types of venues. I ain’t Drake. I ain’t out there smiling like that everywhere. I’m in the stu’, smokin’ and recording.”
