Lil Tjay’s lawyer denies rumours about rapper shooting Offset

A lawyer representing Lil Tjay has denied any involvement in Offset being shot.

The Migos rapper was taken to the hospital on April 6th after being shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida on April 6th.

Following the incident, rumours circulated online about Tjay being responsible for the shooting and being shot himself. However, his attorney, Dawn Florio, took to Instagram in the early hours of April 7th to shut down the rumours.

“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumours that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood which resulting in non-life threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” she began.

Florio continued, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumours.”

TMZ reported that Offset was “fine” but “currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”

Speaking on the shooting, Seminole Police said, “We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7pm Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”

It continued, “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”

In a post on X, Akademiks claimed that Tjay was arrested over the incident but hadn’t been shot. “Spoke w Lil Tjay team who say he wasn’t shot but is currently in custody related to the incident with Offset,” he said.

Offset and Tjay have had issues in the past, going back and forth on social media with threats over money.
