Dallas rapper Lil Loaded dies aged 20

Lil Loaded, the artist behind the 2019 viral effort ‘6locc 6a6y’, has died at age 20.

The Dallas rapper’s lawyer, Ashkan Mehyari, confirmed to Billboard that his cause of death was suicide. In addition, NBC News added that the Dallas Country medical examiner’s office is yet to decipher death’s cause and manner. He was signed to Epic Records.

Two years ago, Lil Loaded – real name Dashawn Robertson – the rapper went viral with his hit’ 6locc 6a6y’, which last week was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Robertson’s last post on Instagram regarded this achievement, with the rapper boasting having the “dopest fanbase on earth”.

He had been charged with murder in connection with the October shooting of 18-year-old Khalil Walker. However, Robertson’s charge was lightened in February to manslaughter.

Dallas Morning News has since reported that Robertson was due for a hearing in court on Tuesday. His lawyer had previously stated he believed Robertson wasn’t guilty of anything, and he was best friends with Walker. Mehyari added there was “no malice” involved.
