Lil Kim pays emotional tribute to late friend Rich Homie Quan

The late rap artist Rich Homie Quan, known for his collaborations with artists like Migos and Young Thug, had a less publicised friendship with Lil Kim. Although the pair sadly never collaborated on music together and only shared the stage once, they were close for several years before Quan’s death.

Tragically, Quan passed away on September 5th. His girlfriend, Amber Williams, found him unresponsive on the sofa in the morning after assuming he had slept the night there. Though an overdose of some kind is suspected, official examinations are yet to be conducted at the Fulton County morgue in Atlanta.

Following the shocking news, Lil Kim posted several photos and videos, including images of her and Quan at a party and sharing champagne in a limousine. She also shared footage from their shared live performance back in 2016. In her post, Lil Kim wrote an emotional caption reflecting on how deeply Quan’s passing has impacted her.

Beginning her message, she identified their strong bond and described her heartache. “This is the part of life that I’ll never get used to,” she wrote. “I’m so heartbroken. No one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had.”

She then noted Quan’s friendly and caring demeanour. “U always pulled up for me no matter what,” Kim added. “I’ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in Heaven my angel @richhomiequan.”

Kim and Quan’s friendship dates back to their 2016 performance at the BET Awards. During her slot, the pair performed the classic Junior MAFIA song ‘Get Money’. Quan attempted to rap Biggie’s verse but made a mistake with the lyric “play Nintendo with Cease and Nino,” instead rapping, “play Nintendo with Cease at Alamo.”

After the minor error in his performance, Quan lost confidence in himself and apologised to Kim. In return, she offered emotional support and helped him t bounce back. “I will forever be sorry,” he wrote on social media at the time. “I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.”
