Lil Durk trial prosecutors to call on multiple cooperating witnesses in trial

Lil Durk will stand trial later this month, and prosecutors are planning to use multiple cooperating witnesses.

The Chicago rapper has been charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death.

He’s also facing one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

Prosecutors have revealed details of the upcoming January 20th trial, which includes testimonies about Durk allegedly ordering and financing a fatal 2022 ambush.

Durk has been in jail since October 2024 after being accused of conspiring with others to murder Quando Rondo, resulting in the death of his cousin, Lul Pab.

According to AllHipHop, the government has said that insiders will explain how the plot was planned, funded, and carried out.

Prosecutors claim Durk used his money, status, and intermediaries to arrange the attack from afar.

Alleged witnesses will testify that Durk approved the plan, helped coordinate travel and logistics, and promised payment upon completion of the job.

“The government’s proposed evidence also provides critical corroboration of its multiple cooperating witnesses, who are anticipated to testify that [Lil Durk] ordered the violence in Los Angeles, used intermediaries to recruit others to carry out the scheme, and promised a reward for carrying out the murder,” prosecutors said in documents.

Durk is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles and faces up to life in prison if found guilty. The trial was initially set to begin in October 2025, but was pushed back due to the “unusual” and “complex” nature of the case.
