Lil Durk planned to flee the United States before his arrest

On October 24th, Chicago native Lil Durk was arrested in the Broward County of South Florida for alleged murder-for-hire. However, since his arrest, new details have emerged about the build-up to his detainment.

It has been reported that prior to his arrest, the emcee had booked several international flights and was allegedly close to boarding one. As part of the criminal investigation into the rapper, FBI Special Agent Sarah Corcoran had to give an affidavit in which she revealed that the FBI were informed by US Customs and Border Protection that he was planning on flying abroad.

In the affidavit, Corcoran recalled how five alleged OTF members were arrested on October 24th and that law enforcement “executed multiple search warrants in the Chicago area” before they received a heads-up from Border Protection.

Recalling the day Durk was arrested, Corcoran told the court, “Shortly after making these arrests and executing the search warrants, the FBI received notifications from U.S. Customs and Border Protection showing that [Durk] had been booked as a passenger on two international flights.”

She then detailed the flights, unveiling he had booked “a one-way flight from Miami to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, connecting through Doha, Qatar, scheduled to depart the evening of October 24th; and a one-way flight from Fort Lauderdale to Switzerland, connecting via New Jersey, also scheduled to depart the evening of October 24th.”

However, one thing the FBI agent highlighted was that if Lil Durk had successfully fled the UAE, the government would not have been able to extradite him. Explaining this Corcoran stated, “I believe that the UAE does not have a bilateral extradition treaty with the United States.”

The ‘All My Life’ lyricist didn’t board either of these planes. Still, Corcoran revealed, “At approximately 6:40 p.m. ET, the FBI received an additional CBP notification that [Durk] had been booked as a passenger on a private plane departing Miami and destined for Italy, scheduled to depart at approximately 9:00 p.m. ET.”

Durk was arrested one hour before that flight “in the vicinity of the departing airport,” the agent said. The OTF rapper was, as mentioned, arrested on a charge of murder for hire, along with five associates, for the killing of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, in 2022.

The official charges facing Durk and the five affiliates are conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as the use of, carry and discharge of firearms and a machinegun in the furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
