Lil Durk’s co-defendants file motion to sever ties in murder-for-hire case
Lil Durk co-defendants have filed a motion to sever ties in his murder-for-hire case.
33-year-old Durk was arrested in October 2024 for allegedly conspiring with others to kill Quando Rondo, resulting in the death of his cousin, Lul Pab. Since his arrest, he’s remained behind bars without bail.
He was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
However, this month, he was hit with two new charges, including murder in aid of racketeering and conspiracy to commit stalking.
According to Complex, OTF members OTF DeDe (real name Deandre Wilson) and Browneyez (real name David Lindsey) have now scheduled hearings to renew their motion to split from Durk’s case.
A third defendant, OTF member Boogie (real name Asa Houston), has also asked to be severed entirely from his co-defendants.
In the third superseding indictment, which was filed earlier this month, Durk is accused of leading a street gang and offering a reward for the murder of a “rival gang member” in Chicago on January 27th, 2022.
The rapper is also accused of being involved in an attempted murder in Atlanta on February 5th, 2019, allegedly related to a dispute over the purchase of a stolen car.
Durk’s trial is currently scheduled for August 20th, 2026, after being pushed back on several occasions. He’s incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, California, and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted of his alleged crimes.
