An affiliate of Lil Durk was shot dead in Chicago over the weekend. Rapper THF Bayzoo (real name Devonsha Collier) was 35.
The fatal shooting took place on October 25th at around 3pm in Little Village on the 3100 block of South St Louis Avenue. Footage surfaced on social media of two men approaching Collier and shooting him from close range.
According to the Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and died in the early hours of October 26th.
The Chicago Tribune reports that two other men, aged 39 and 42, also suffered gunshot wounds during the weekend incident.
Collier was previously arrested in 2014 and charged with the murder of 21-year-old Dominic Barnes. The arrest occurred at the Orland Park home of Durk, who was also arrested but later cleared. Collier was acquitted in 2017.
Bayzoo was a drill rapper from Chicago’s South Side. His music videos have hundreds of thousands of views, including ‘Murda Story‘, which has racked up 676,000 views.
The rapper was a longtime associate of Durk, who has been in jail since October 2024 after being accused of conspiring with others to murder Quando Rondo, resulting in the death of Lul Pab.
He was charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death.
Durk is also facing one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January 2026 and faces a possible life sentence if found guilty. The trial has already been pushed back on two occasions.
