Lil Baby disses Gunna on ‘WHAM’ deluxe album: “He a rat still”
Lil Baby has taken shots at Gunna once again by accusing him of snitching on Young Thug in the YSL RICO case. The Atlanta rapper dropped his new album WHAM on January 3rd, but he wasn’t finished there. Baby released a deluxe version of the project on January 7th, which included a song called ‘Running This Shit’.
On the track, Baby continues to target his former collaborator, rapping, “I don’t care what he did, he a rat still/ And I said what I said, don’t at me.” The song is one of four new tracks on the deluxe album alongside ’99’ featuring Future, ‘Idol’ and ‘My Shawty’.
Gunna and Baby released a collaborative album, Drip Harder, in October 2018, but Baby recently ruled out a reunion. “We don’t got no relationship,” he told Charlamagne Tha God on Out of Context. On another occasion in 2023, Baby said, “Fuck the rats, turn this shit off,” after their song ‘Drip Too Hard’ played through the speakers at one of his concerts.
Baby’s lyrics come shortly after Gunna’s ex-lawyer, Steve Sadow, who represented him during the YSL trial, came to his defence amid “snitch” allegations after he accepted a plea deal and was released from prison in 2022.
“I was Gunna’s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf,” he said. “This long post is solely to set out the truth. Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case. He spent 8 months in jail and was released in Dec. 2022 after entering an Alford plea.
“Gunna’s plea could not and was not used at Thug’s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-yr suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.”
He added, “THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF’ SAID. Love the street rules and the dry-snitched comments. Oh the fake outrage, same old s**t. Both were charged with RICO. Both faced 20 yrs in prison. Both pled to RICO. Regardless, I’m more than willing to accept the blame for the great deal.”
The lawyer posted his comments after Thug shared a new song snippet, where he rapped, “Never associate with a rat/ Go and get some money, get a pack.”
