Pompano Beach rapper Kodak Black recently appeared on the Drink Champs podcast alongside Noreaga and DJ EFN to speak about his upcoming project. However, before he addressed it, he talked about Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.
The interview hit YouTube on October 28th, and whilst speaking about the current state of hip-hop, Noreaga asked Kodak his thoughts on Kanye West and Pharrell, who is now the men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton.
Speaking on Kanye, who has recently got himself into a lot of trouble, Kodak revealed he felt he could be an advisor to West. The revelation came during the podcast’s ‘Quicktime With Slime’ segment, where guests are asked to pick their favourite of two choices.
During the segment, the Flordia rapper was asked whether he was “Team Kanye” or “Team Pharrell” to which he responded, “I fuck with Pharrell. I’m not going to lie. I can call Pharrell and talk about anything. I fuck with him!”
He continued, “But Kanye [is] Gemini gang, and Kanye, I feel like I can be his mentor or something. It would be very fruitful for his life. Kanye, when you see [this], holler at me.”
When the Drink Champs episode dropped, fans were quick to notice Kodak’s appearance, with many viewers claiming he looked unwell. One user wrote under the video, “He needs help NOW!!!!!!! Omg, this just broke my heart! How on earth can people be around him and watch him fall apart like this and not have him in rehab or something.”
Many chastised Noreaga and DJ EFN for having Kodak on in the first place when he was so evidently unwell, with one user writing, “Shouldn’t drop this video… what happened to uplifting the legends? This ain’t it!”
