Kodak Black shooting lawsuit dropped after rapper was sued for $10 million
Kodak Black was hit with a $10 million lawsuit following the Super Bowl in 2022, but the plaintiffs have now dropped it.
On February 12th, 2022, there was a shooting outside The Nice Guy in Los Angeles at an event hosted by Justin Bieber.
Kodak was struck in the leg, with two men, Mark Schaefer and Adam Rahman, also shot during the incident.
Schaefer and Rahman alleged that Kodak escalated the situation to the point of someone firing a gun, leading them to sue the Florida rapper.
According to TMZ, the pair dropped the lawsuit this week without a settlement. The men were allegedly told to drop the case or get sued for attorney fees, opting to dismiss the matter altogether.
In a statement, Kodak’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, said, “This lawsuit filed by Gloria Allred, might have been the dumbest, most ridiculous lawsuit I have ever read. As I said when this idiotic lawsuit was filed, they would not get a dime. This was light work for me and our LA office run by Zoe Aron.”
He continued, “Luckily for them, our client decided to forgo filing a motion for his attorney fees, and let them whimper away with their tail between their legs. This should be a warning and a lesson to dopey attorneys, filing dopey lawsuits, come for our clients and we will come for you.”
Rahman and Schaefer initially sought a $62 million default judgment against Kodak, but the court denied it due to “inadequate” proof of damages.
The Super Bowl party at The Nice Guy reportedly included high-profile guests such as Drake, Lil Baby, Gunna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Khloe Kardashian, and Tobey Maguire.
