Killer Mike says Run The Jewels are recording their new album

Killer Mike has confirmed Run The Jewels are working on their new album.

The last record from the supergroup came in 2020 when they dropped RTJ4, and due to the pandemic, they’ve still not been able to tour the album. However, Mike and El-P are taking the road with Rage Against The Machine on their reunion tour this summer.

“I say this with a smile and a wink — me and El-P were in the studio together,” Mike has told Consequence. “We may have messed around and started Run the Jewels 5. So we’ll see what happens.”

Mike also revealed he doesn’t want his new music to be restricted to a new Run The Jewels album, and he’s open to anything. He continued: “I would say look for Run the Jewels to pop up on some guest appearances. I’ve done some solo guest appearances as well. So just look for more music to be coming out period.”

The rapper added: “I never know what I’m planning — but what I do plan right now is actually completing one of the greatest tours ever in Run the Jewels and Rage Against the Machine.”

Meanwhile, Run The Jewels will be visiting the UK in June. Their tour will begin in London before the duo then heads to Glasgow and Manchester before finishing in Birmingham.
