Kid Cudi addresses ‘stressful’ Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs testimony: “I’m glad it’s behind me”
Kid Cudi appeared in court on May 22nd to testify in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking trial. The questioning revolved around his relationship with Cassie and the allegation that Combs set his car on fire.
After testifying, the Cleveland rapper took to his X account, describing the situation as “stressful” and admitting he was relieved to have got it out of the way.
“Hey guys, so I just wanna say, man, I’ve been seeing all the love and support and I just wanna say, thank you so much, man,” he said. “People been hitting me up the past week, just checking in and even today. It really means a lot to me, man. You guys are the best. I love y’all.”
The rapper added, “This is a stressful situation, I’m glad it’s behind me, and yeah, I love y’all, man, big love. Go stream ‘Neverland’.”
Cudi arrived at Manhattan Federal Court in a white T-shirt, black leather jacket, and denim jeans, smoking a cigarette and showing no signs of concern.
Taking the stand, Cudi claimed he briefly dated Cassie in 2011. He recalled a “stressed” and “scared” phone call from Cassie saying that Combs found out about their relationship. Then, Cudi allegedly discovered that Combs was inside his home, with the Bad Boy rapper telling him, “I just want to talk to you.”
A month later, he claimed his car was set on fire in his driveway, stating “the top of my Porsche was cut open, and that’s where the Molotov cocktail was put in.” They later met at Soho House, where Cudi said Combs “was standing there with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain.”
They spoke about Cudi’s relationship with Cassie before shaking hands. When Cudi asked him about the car, Combs allegedly said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Cudi believed he was lying. Years later, Cudi claimed Combs apologised to him, saying, “I just want to apologise for everything and all that bullshit.”
