Kid Cudi issues health update following cancelled tour
After cancelling his plans for a world tour after breaking his foot at Coachella, Kid Cudi has issued a health update with fans.
Since the incident in April, the rapper has been wholly focussed on his recovery, and right now, his priority is being able to walk freely again rather than enter the studio. However, earlier this year, he did release his latest album, Insano, but it remains uncertain when he’ll finally be able to take the LP across the world.
Following the unfortunate injury at the Californian festival, Cudi took to social media to reveal that he had suffered a broken calcaneus, which prevented him from going ahead with his plans to tour Insano. “I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. Theres just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought,” he shared.
Cudi also reassured fans they would be able to receive a full refund, and once his health allowed him to do so, he would announce new tour dates. “Im really disappointed as I’m sure you guys are too, but I will be back. Thats a promise. Im ok, just a lil soreness, but I’m in good spirits,” he signed off by saying.
Despite believing the injury was much more severe than he first envisaged, three months on from suffering the broken foot, Cudi is started to walk again. In a new video posted on social media, the rapper can be seen slowly walking, which he gleefully captioned: “This is F@$!%KIN crazy. I didnt think this would happen so soon. Damn near walkin regular, not much pain, smooth fluid motion. The Return of the Chosen…”
Although Cudi is still not able to walk freely, and is unlikely to be going for a jog anytime soon, the latest update is firmly a step in a positive direction. However, his shows are typically high energy, and if this video is any indicator, Cudi is many months away from being able to grace a stage once again.
His Insano tour was scheduled to arrive in the UK in March 2025 for three arena dates, including a show at the recently opened Co-Op Live in Manchester, but no concerts are currently listed on the rapper’s website. The rapper was also set to play the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham and The O2 in London with Pusha T announced as his opener.
