Kid Cudi forced to evacuate from LA home due to wildfires

Kid Cudi was forced to leave his home in Los Angeles due to the wildfires. The Cleveland rapper, who now lives in California, took to his Instagram Stories on January 9th to inform his followers that he had left his property, but he and his loved ones were safe. He also shared a message for those struggling during this difficult time.

“Hey guys, had to evacuate my crib,” he wrote. “I’m safe, w my loved ones, dogs are safe. For all the folks who lost their homes, people that are dealing with this, my heart hurts for you and I’m praying for us all and I send ALL my love to you and yours. If you have to evacuate, get out immediately. Don’t hesitate. Be safe LA. Love you guys.”

Cudi’s post about the wildfires is the first time he’s been active on social media since before Christmas. In an Instagram post, he revealed he was cutting back his online activity to protect his mental health.

“Hello world! I’ma be posting a lot less now, being disconnected is what I need to do for my mental, but I want you to know that I love you,” he wrote. “And even though you won’t hear from me, my love for you is always there.”

He continued, “I think it’s time to head back to the shadows. Thank you for all the love and support these past years. My team will keep you updated with lil’ projects I’m workin’ on and sometimes I’ll post a story so you’ll know I’m alive … Be good to each other, and remember, God got you!”

Shortly before that, Cudi also announced that he would no longer use X (formerly Twitter) and that his team would take over from that point on.

“I think my time is done on Twitter,” he said. “If [you] wanna stay connected to me, I’ll have my IG. I’ll keep y’all updated [through] my stories, but I won’t be posting much on there either. Just projects and things I got goin’ on will be posted by my team.”

He added, “I’ve been thinkin’, I see too much bullshit on here and life is much cooler being disconnected. I think I’ve been too accessible. Now, when [you] hear from me, it’ll be through my art. I love y’all. It’s been real. Goodbye.”
