Kid Cudi erects statues of himself globally to promote new LP

‘Day N Nite’ rapper Kid Cudi has found a rather unusual way to promote his latest full-length studio album, INSANO by erecting giant statues of himself in major cities worldwide.

The project, which was released on January 12th, boasts a range of incredible features from the likes of A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Pharrell Williams, Lil Yachty, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and a posthumous guest feature from XXXTentacion.

Since the release of INSANO, statues of the lyricist (real name Scott Mescudi) have appeared in California and European cities such as Paris. Upon finding out that a statue of the emcee had been erected in Long Beach, the city’s Twitter/X account posted, “Earlier today, the City of Long Beach learned that a 33-foot statue of musical artist Kid Cudi arrived in Alamitos Bay.”

The post continued, “The artist is visiting #LongBeach today for a private promotional event at a local business & the statue is part of the event.” The statues are all 33-feet tall in height.

INSANO is Cudi’s ninth studio album and his first release since his 2022 project Entergalactic. Many outlets have highlighted that it is the last project he is obligated to release under his contract with Republic Records. Furthermore, Mescudi has been hinting at retirement.

Taking to Twitter/X last year, the rapper wrote, “Im doin 1 more album and then im done w my deal and not sure what ima do after that but yea, 1 more. Wont be next year. Keep u posted.”

In December, Cudi also announced his memoir CUDI, teased a potential book tour in the future and hinted the book would be “very honest” and talk about “sex, drugs, love, faith, and melodies.
