Kendrick Lamar performs ‘Euphoria’ live for the first time
Following his beef with Drake, there has been a lot of support for Kendrick Lamar. However, due to DJ Akademiks, there has been some speculation about him inflating his streaming numbers. Regardless of this, the excitement surrounding Lamar hasn’t waned, and during a recent show, he performed his Drake diss track, ‘Euphoria,’ for the first time.
Taking to the stage at The Pop Out festival, a live celebration of West Coast hip-hop, Lamar kicked off his set with ‘Euphoria’ and rhymed every single bar passionately and was happy to diss Drake all over again.
The set was mesmerising, but Lamar delivered all of his classics. He performed songs from Good Kid m.A.A.d City such as ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’ and ‘Money Trees’ alongside Jay Rock as well as tracks from DAMN, such as ‘DNA’ and ‘ELEMENT’.
Held at the Kia Forum Arena in Inglewood, The Pop Out festival saw appearances from other legends such as Odd Future icon Tyler The Creator, Compton natives Roddy Rich and YG. Furthermore, West Coast producer DJ Mustard held a tribute to the late Crenshaw emcee Nipsey Hussle, who had an early demise in 2019.
The Pop Out Festival was described by its attendees as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” and saw a star-studded crowd that included some familiar faces, including the likes of NBA legends LeBron James, James Harden and Miami lyricist Rick Ross.
Drake has yet to perform one of his diss tracks live since the feud’s cessation, but did take shots at Travis Scott during Big as the What? Tour, after Scott asked the Lamar, Future and Metro Boomin’ to perform ‘Like That’ (a Drake diss) at Rolling Loud California.
Fans are now awaiting a live performance from Drake to see if he chooses to perform one of his many diss tracks aimed at Lamar.
