Kendrick Lamar hints new record might be a double album

Kendrick Lamar has hinted his upcoming album, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers could be a double album.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper shared a photo of himself holding a pair of CDs and a book in one hand, which suggests the album will be a double record. Possibly, a book could be released that ties into the campaign, although this is yet to be officially announced.

The burgundy is engraved with the title of the project, along with Lamar’s full name rather than his Oklama moniker, which he’s been using in the album campaign. Meanwhile, one of the CDs has Steppers written on it, and the other has Morale; both are handwritten.

Lamar announced the arrival of the album with a press release by his company pgLang, which was signed off by Oklama. The letter states: “The following statement was released today by Oklama through his company pgLang at 11 a.m. PT in Los Angeles CA: Album: ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.’ Release date: 5/13/2022. All factual information for this release will come directly from this source only.”

Kendrick signed the letter off by writing, “Appreciate Your Patience.” It’s been five years since Lamar released Damn, and the release of Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers on May 13th can’t come soon enough.
