Kanye West's 'Donda' livestream is Apple Music's most watched

Donda has still not been released, but Apple Music doesn’t care as Kanye West’s second live stream of the album becomes the most-watched on the platform ever. The longer this facade rumbles on, the better for them.

The new figure breaks the record that West set with the first live stream of Donda last month, which scored 3.3 million people who tuned in to watch Kanye premiere his new album at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. However, Billboard state that a whopping 5.4 million fans viewed Yeezy’s second premiere last week at the same stadium.

On top of that, the publication also states that the superstar rapper also made $7 million from in-person merch sales alone from the second event in Atlanta.

The original plan from Yeezy was to release Donda on July 23rd. Still, Kanye being Kanye, couldn’t resist tweaking further with the album and leaving fans to wear down the skin on their thumbs from relentlessly refreshing his page on Spotify.

Almost a month on, and there is still no sign of the album despite two listening parties. We live in hope that he may soon put us all out of our misery.

Streaming platform iTunes is now stating that Donda will have a release date of August 13th. However, Apple Music meanwhile lists it for release on August 15th, and Kanye is yet to confirm either as the official date.
