Kanye West reportedly working on a new album in Hawaii

Kanye West is is said to be currently working on a new album in Hawaii.

The rapper, who hasn’t released a record since Jesus Is King in 2019, a record that saw West get in touch with his faith and delve into the world of gospel music. He was due to release Donda last July, but the album named after his late mother failed to materialise for one reason or the other. Now, it appears he’s moved his attention towards WestDayEver.

Last week, West’s manager hinted that the rapper is gearing up to release a new album, WestDayEver. Gap posted an image of their first clothing collaboration with West’s Yeezy brand, and his manager was spreading the love in the comments, writing: “WestDayEver. Album OTW!”

Now, AllHipHop has learned that West has been in a recording studio in Honolulu, Hawaii, working on new material. The publication state that they can’t confirm what material he is working on, however, his location was confirmed during West’s lawsuit with MyChannel — who is suing the rapper for $20million.

The video e-commerce business alleges he promised to invest $10 million into their company which he then didn’t proceed with, but, according to the company, West went ahead and allegedly copied their video technology.

During the deposition, MyChannel’s lawyer Ben J. Meiselas allegedly complained to the judge: “Plaintiff’s counsel later learned that West was not in California at all but was in Hawaii with an entourage of unmasked employees and collaborators recording an album.”
