Kanye West wants to fly to Miami to help Kodak Black after troubling video surfaces
Kanye West has recently shown some concern for fellow emcee artist Kodak Black after a viral video of the ‘No Flockin’ rhymer showed him sitting in the middle of a road eating chicken.
In April last year, Kodak Black updated fans about his life and asserted that he had finally gotten over his addiction and abuse of prescription pills. Detailing how severe his drug use was before he went into rehab, the ‘Zeze’ lyricist told his followers, “Before I just went to jail, bro, I was taking… I can talk about this because it’s my testimony. Bro, I’m hollering at y’all, ain’t no shame in my shit. I was taking, bro, at least 100 Percs. Bro, my average was 40 Percocets. I’m telling y’all this man!”
However, since last year, it seems things have got progressively worse. In recent videos, Kodak Black has looked seemingly unwell, and the latest footage showed him sitting with strangers while they filmed him absurdly eating chicken.
Kodak’s perceived struggles has concerned Kanye West, who has publicly declared that he wants to reconnect with the young Miami artist and mentor him so that he can get to a better place with some guidance.
The recent video of Kodak Black showed him wearing a chain from West’s “DONDA” collection, and to the Graduation creator, this is a sign that he is needed and should reach out to Kodak.
The idea of Kanye West mentoring Black is not surprising. In a 2023 interview with Noreaga and DJ EFN for the Drink Champs podcast, Kodak Black expressed his respect for West, stating, “Kanye, I felt like I can be his mentor or something. It would be very fruitful for his life. Kanye, when you see [this], holler at me.”
Now, Kanye is insistent that the two artists will embark on a journey of collaborative, personal and professional growth. The two artists have previously collaborated on the track ‘Field Trip,’ which was featured on the album Vultures 2. The song also featured Playboi Carti and Don Toliver.
Many hip-hop fans are optimistic about a potential partnership and believe it could lead to exciting musical developments for West and Kodak Black.
